*Get The Message*

Kurt Vonnegut, in Breakfast of Champions, referred to the asterisk as his generation's name for certain kind of people.  If you call some one an asterisk, he'll probably get the picture.

So Kurt Vonnegut and his friends drew *s wherever they could.  If you draw it right, it looks just like the part of the human anatomy that everyone has -- but no one wants to be.

And so, H.O.D.B.O. was born.

H.O.D.B.O. stands for Have One Don't Be One.

Fast forward to a few days ago and I'm surfing and this person just drops in on (steals, basically) my wave and I said, "Just because you have one, you don't have to be one."  And that started a conversation with my surf buddy about a nice, passive aggressive way to tell people not to be such *s.  Something to put on a hat or, better yet, a rash guard.

Something just like this...


Something that lets everyone get the message.
Be nice.  
Don't be an *
Oh, and buy the rash guard
